Dictionnaire de l'Académie française de 193235 8e édition French Edition eBook Académie française
French dictionary in french. I like that it automatically links to my Kindle books in French. It is also quite comprehensive. There are two major downsides.1) Often it doesn't find the word, even though it is in the dictionary. This occurs if the word happens to be plural, or for verbs. I can understand not having every conjugation of every verb, but it seems it should find the plurals. Sometimes when the word is only plural, but has a masculine and feminine form, both appear as the word in the dictionary meaning neither version gets found even though the spelling in the book exactly matches one of them. My biggest complaint is that when it doesn't find the word, it doesn't open the dictionary so that you can type and look. To find the definition you must exit out of your book to the main menu and open the dictionary. It would be nice if when not finding a word in the dictionary you were allowed to open it and search from your book without having to exit. (This might actually be a downside to the Kindle, and not a fault of the dictionary.)
2) Definitions often use the word itself (or a version of the word) as the definition. For example if you look up Inébranlable - the definition is Qui ne peut être ébranlé.

Dictionnaire de l'Académie française de 193235 8e édition French Edition eBook Académie française Reviews
I gave this dictionary a poor rating which is intended for ’s developers. I did not wish to rate the dictionary but the app continued to require a rating before I could open the dictionary. How can I rate a book before I am able to open it? Completely stupid! Now I hope to be able to open the dictionary.
Just a joy to read.
Gives examples and sentences using current word
Enjoy it.
Great teacher of french term or idiom
wants my review before i have used this so i really don't know if it's good, pardonez moi. au lourdes
When the book opens, I'm presented with three links one for the body of the book, one for the abbreviations used, and one for an explanation of the edition.
Unfortunately, the link to the body of the book is dead. Of course, this renders the entire file useless. Why this wasn't caught and corrected right away, I can't fathom. I'm using a Fire HD, so it may work fine for other s.
A good supplement to a modern English-French or French-English dictionary for technical words. It provides definitions in French for the French terms, and if needed, an English translation is readily obtainable with common online methods. An additional benefit of the dictionary in the for PC reader is that, being in French, the will give you access to an online dictionary for an extensive range of definitions, the very comprehensive Cordiale. This is very good leverage from using this dictionary and purchasing your chosen French-English dictionary in . I am chuffed about discovering this.
This is the best dictionary I have though itś all in French. I could not do without it when reading French on a . It is absolutely amazing!!!. I was reading Madame Bovary in French and it had every horse pulled cart that was at the wedding - there were at least 3 or 4 different types described in detail -
Could not find postillion anywhere though so had to go to the internet - was driving me crazy - all it is is when the person who drives the passengers around actually rides on the horse that pulls the cart.
The French dictionary in my old was much more useful than this one. It had a larger vocabulary and more concise definitions. As a native English speaker, using a French-French dictionary because it covers more French words than an French-English dictionary, I liked especially the extensive use of synonyms to define words, since almost every list of French synonyms includes one with an obvious English equivalent. This new dictionary from the Academie is no doubt authoritative, but its vocabulary is too small and its definitions are too long for quick reading by user who is not French. I could grudgingly tolerate long definitions, but there are just too many words that are not defined at all. So when I read French, I use my old and not my new Paperwhite.
